Renaissance… awakening of consciousness
     “The first duty of a university is to teach wisdom, not trade; character not technicalities.” -Winston Churchill 
     Intellectual education influences the head and values-based education influences the heart. True education is the training of both the head and the heart. Renaissance… awakening of consciousness is the Ethical cum Patriotic Society of college.

     It was formed in September 2008 by three determined students. Renaissance (meaning rebirth) was a period of cultural movement that reformed whole of Europe in late middle age and marked the revival and rebirth of a new era in all aspects of learning and intellectual upliftment.

     Objectives of RENAISSANCE are:

     § Self-awareness
     § Staying away from negative influences
     § Personality development ü SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
     § Our role in making a good society
     § Living a life of kindness, compassion and charity ü NATION BUILDING

     § Patriotism
     § Environmental awareness
     § Respect and pride for our culture/heritage

    Activities of RENAISSANCE -
     ü Thought-provoking lectures/lively discussion by intellectuals, speakers
     ü Group-discussion on issues/group-activities
     ü Debates 
     ü Essay-writing
     ü Documentaries/videos
     ü Voting (opinion on issues)
     ü Social-work 

         Renaissance aims to provide an environment to students, making them aware of the importance of ethics and human values in life and the problems, our society and nation is facing so as to make them more conscious of self and surroundings. Renaissance works to make students morally literate and socially responsible so that they prove to be valuable not only for technical competency but also for work-ethics of any organization and are inspired to utilize their education for larger interests of society and nation.
