Oorja
Oorja was founded on January 21st, 2006 by some of the then third year students under the guidance of Mr. Prasun Bhargav and with the relentless support of the then second year and first year students of the Electrical and Electronics Department. The sole intention behind starting off with a department society was to provide a channelized growth medium to the students, not merely in the field of academics, but also for other extra curricular activities. With Oorja we aspired to begin a new revolution in the college, which would set the foundation stones for many such endeavors, dealing with the other equally important aspects of a student’s life. We believe that for any event or social activity to be successful, it is imperative for all the departments to bring their best to the forefront, which in turn can bring out the best in others.
The culture of organized departmental societies was a boon for those hundreds who had a mine of talents buried deep within them but there is no forum to show them on.
Magazine:-
Soon after its launch in January 2006, Oorja was all set to bag another first in its kitty. The work on the First Departmental Magazine of the college was started. The first issue of Oorja Magazine came out in March, 2006. Oorja magazine was a huge success. The response this magazine got from the students was heartening.
