Trasmission & Distribution Losses in Eletrical Power system
In our country average trasmission
&distribution (T&D) losses are 23 percents of the electricity generated
.However ,as per sample studies carried out by independent agencies, these looses
have been estimated to be as high as 50 percentes in some states. With the setting
up of state Regulatory Commission in the country corret estimation of T&d losses
has gained importance as it directly affects electricity tariff of a utility
Enegy from waste
Abstract
Rapid urbanization, industrialization and change in pattern of civic life have resulted in the generation
of enormous quantities of waste in urban and industrial
area
of the country. Most waste that are generated find their way into land and water
bodies without proper treatmeant, causes sever water pollution. They also emit greenhouse
gases like methane and corbon dioxide and add to air pollution. The problem caused
by solid and loquid waste can be significantly mitigated through the adoption of
environmental-frindly waste -to-energy technologies that will allow treameant and
processing of waste before their disposal. This measure would reduce the quantity
of waste, generated a substantial quantity of energy from them, and greatly reduce
pollution of water and air. This presentation focus on different technologies available
for waste to energy conversion (incineration, landfill, anaerobic, etc.),their environment
al aspects, estimated potential, present status in India, advantages and disadvantagesin
brief.
Genesis of ICP and its Correlates
Abstract- In diseased
condition such as hydrocephalus and sever brain injury ICP monitoring,is now considered
an integral part for neurological care,as matter of fact raised ICP affects the
cerebral perfusion and copresses brain tissues. This demand settling of the compelling
problem as to what is genesis of ICP and its correlates? The basis of prevailing
concept
The
ICP genesis, some models had also been proposed in the past.the few of them are in
fact used to characterize CSF flow system and brain tissuses. But limited applications
of these model for the genesis of ICP and it correlates, springs up a need of more
realistic model for better understanding of ICP behavior..Therefore ,a new unified
hypothesis tested employing and clinical data repoartin the literature.THE resulting
biochanical model out of proposed hypothesis predicts that elastance can be linearly
approximated in terms ofICP and an interceot ,for constant rate csf infusion, and
a common factor exists between the elastance coefficient and the negative intercept.this
correlation has also been found with the corresponding reported clinical data.
