Independence Day Celebrations – 15th August, 2011
The 65th Independence Day 15th August, 2011 was celebrated by AKGEC with high spirits and zeal. The entire campus presented a festive look with creative decoration and beautification, various kinds of flowers and tricolor ribbons. The celebrations started with flag hosting by the Members of Management and Director with all faculty, staff and students of the college. The security guards of the college presented a heart warming salute to the National Flag along with National Anthem. Jan-gan-man was sung by all personnel present on the occasion. Tri colour baloons were released by Members of Management, Director, HODs , DSW and Dean Administration supported by huge round of applause by all personnel which filled the sky with reverberations of Independence Day Celebrations.
After hoisting of National Flag and release of baloons, all personnel moved to the college seminar hall to witness the cultural programme. Students of Euphony and Goonj society of the college presented a well organized programme where highly spirited and patriotic songs and a skit touched the hearts of the audience. This created a warm environment full of enthusiasm and National fervor. Cheerfulness and motivation for dedication to the Nation was clearly visible in the audience. The Class IV employees of the college who have displayed professional excellence in their respective areas were duly recognized and were given cash awards and certificates.
The function was concluded with a highly moving, heart touching and memorable speech by the Director who advised all present to come forward with self less dedication to bring a revolution against corruption and indiscipline in every sphere. He also advised to be courageous to accept own’s mistakes and become a good citizen of India. Thereafter the celebrations ended with sweet distribution to all personnel.
